Vernie Mable Wallace, age 91, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born August 11, 1921 in Florence, Alabama to Adell and Stell (Abston) Eppes. She was a housewife and a member of the Ward Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orlan Wallace; one daughter, Nona Looper; three brothers, Glenn Eppes, Melvin Eppes, and Buddy Eppes; and one sister, Vera Jordan. Survivors include on son, Larry Wallace of Rochelle, Illinois; two daughters, Loretta Jones of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Cynthia Logue and husband Shawn of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers, Bobby and Steve Eppes; three sisters, Joyce Blake, Jessie Vaughn, and Joanne Crouch; twelve Grandchildren; twelve Great Grandchildren; two Great-Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will begin Monday, October 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ward Street Church of Christ located in Hardy, Arkansas with Pastor Joel Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery located in Hardy, Arkansas. Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel located in Highland, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Carson Goings, Danny Slayton, Jimmy Harrison, J.D. Hinton, Joe Yates, and Redman King.
