Mary "Cris" L. Ponder

Mary “Cris” L. Ponder, age 69, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas died May 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 3, 1943 at Pitts, Arkansas to William and Mary Bryant. She was a housewife, a loving mother, and friend. She was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew Ponder; one sister, Nora Emory; and brother-in-law, Jim Garner. Survivors include one son Anthony Gale Taylor of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; one daughter, Cynthia Lynn Taylor of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; two brothers, Gale (Shirley) Bryant and Billy (Jan) Bryant; four sisters, Doris Garner, Juanita Ray, Mazilee Ray and Margie Wilbanks; and one brother-in-law, Tom Emory. A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kay Burton officiating. The Family would like to thank Dr. Treece ,all the nurses on the third floor at NEA Baptist Hospital, and Caring Hands Hospice . In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mission of Hope 3968 Highway 62-412 Hardy, Arkansas 72542 or the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church. A special Thank You goes out to Barbara McBride, Carolyn and Larry Kissee, and Anna Jean Mullins and family. All arrangements are by Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
